Miscellanies
Somewhat like my dog and the scents of spring that distract her on her walk, I’m drawn to color, form and patterns in any art form. The siren songs of clay and fabric (and even metals) are strong but I’ve committed myself to paper, my original love. And while books and boxes hold endless inspiration for me, I enjoy occasional explorations of paper in other forms.

I was immediately smitten with Kate Semple’s paper vessels and her helpful tutorial. Somewhat wonky, I appreciate that you can see the craft involved in these vessels as well as the painter’s hand. The vessels use light card from mailing envelopes or other recycling. And as different as they may be from the tight corners and straight lines of my books and boxes, they are still a form of container…something to hold something else and inspire curiosity.
